VA Hiring Push Delivers More Care To More Veterans

Just in the first four months of 2023, the Veterans Health Administration has had its highest growth rate in over 20 years, with 18,502 new employees. The VHA is well on their way to achieving its new hire goal through 2023.

This new pace allowed them to process a record number of Veteran benefit claims — delivering more than $112 billion to Veterans just in the year 2022.

Their goal is to hire a total of 30,000 employees in these seven important occupations: Physicians, nurses, housekeeping aids, medical support assistants, nursing assistants, licensed practical nurses and food service workers.

VA has hired employees at record rates to help better deliver benefits to Veterans, their families, caregivers, and survivors.
